{Puppy Love} Cotton + Emmett

When I was approached about shooting a dog-wedding...a shotgun-dog-wedding...I jumped at the chance. I mean, does it get any better than adorable Labs, in love, on the soundfront? (Under an arbor, no less?) Actually...it did. A few days later, the Mrs. Labs gave birth to 9 adorable puppies. (I don't tend to get baby-fever...but puppy-fever is in full swing. Aw-da-be-beeees)

Enjoy! More to come when the babes have opened their eyes!

{Maternity} Baby Hux

...just waiting on baby! We are all so excited to meet Baby Hux!

{All the Family}

We are mid-season of summer sessions and have met so many incredible families this summer! Enjoy a little snippet of what we've been up to!

{Senior Portraits}

Take advantage of your time on the beach & knock out those senior portraits in the sand!

{12 Days} Lyla
{I Do} Paul + Tina

Being asked to shoot a friend's wedding is one of the biggest honors in the world. Walking onto the beach to share in Paul + Tina's big day, you could feel the love shared among the two families and many friends for this amazing couple.

Thank you for having us, you two. Congratulations!

{Family} Pridgen

As much as we love the sea, we love an escape to farmland! Thanks for having us, Lara + Colby!

{Baby B} Declan

Welcome to the world, Declan. #givemeallthebabysnuggles

{1 year} Charlotte is ONE!

Let them eat cake...and snuggle unicorns.

{I Do} Mr. + Mrs. Dillon

These two....throughout their day, it was such a pleasure to see the love and respect they share for one another. Congratulations, you two!!

{E Session} Future Howells

I love working with local clients. But I especially love working with locals who have sense relocated elsewhere. When they return, they see the beauty in our little island towns in a different way.

John + Linsday, together with their show-stealer of a fur-baby, Chief, were nothing short of amazing. We cannot wait to shoot their big day in the fall!!

{I Do} Mr. & Mrs. Vann

We brought in the new year with this amazing couple and are so thankful they asked us to join them for such a special ceremony!

Huge thanks to Vista Creek for rocking out another wedding with us! Congrats, Mr. & Mrs. Vann!

{One} CB

I can't believe it has been a year since I got to meet this little cutie for the first time! It has been a huge pleasure working with this sweet family throughout the first year of memories with CB!

Happy Birthday, CB!!

{Engaged} John + Bri

The hurdles we hopped over for this shoot...finding the perfect canoe, blackout cloud cover, wind blowing from all directions in 40 degree temperatures...but you can't tell it looking at these two.

Thank you for sharing a chilly afternoon with me! We can't wait for 12/31/18!!

{I Do} Mr. & Mrs. Malarney

Typically, I start a wedding-post with a quote on love, happiness, marriage, etc. But for this particular wedding, the quotes just don't do their love story justice.

Cullen and Frieda's love for each other shows in the way they look at one another, and the way they look at their daughter. Their eyes tell it all. It was an honor and a pleasure to share in a little part of their love story.

Thank you for having us, Mr. & Mrs. Malarney!

{Engaged} Cullen + Frieda

Photographer struggle: when you consider posting an entire client's gallery to the blog b/c they are all your favorite.

Thank you, Cullen & Frieda for a great evening on the sound! We can't wait for your big day!!

{I Do!} Mr. & Mrs. Goodson

“Love is more than three words mumbled before bedtime. Love is sustained by action, a pattern of devotion in the things we do for each other every day.” – Nicholas Sparks

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Goodson!!

{Engaged} Gerrad + Maggie

"Can we do our engagement portraits with our horses?"

Be.Still.My.Heart. OF COURSE!! We had a fantastic shoot with Gerrad and Maggie (and Dan and Marley!) in Hatteras and are counting down the days to their 2019 nuptials!!

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times...we love seeing families grow from year to year! This is our second visit from the Osbornes and we love them more and more each year!!

{Engaged} Justin + Julia

We can't wait to shoot Justin & Julia's upcoming nuptials!!

{Family} Wixteds in Kitty Hawk

It is such an honor to be chosen to shoot families year after year on their beach-vacations.

This is the 3rd session I've had with the Wixteds and it has been my absolute pleasure to watch their family grow.

Thank you guys for choosing Busy B each year! <3

{Senior} Maddie + Fam

While I adore working with clients from around the world, there is something extra special about local clients.

Meet Maddie...rising senior and Manteo High School Marching Band Drum Major. (Be still my band-heart...totally took me back to my own marching band days!)

{Senior} Abbie

What fun to have your senior portraits taken during an Outer Banks vacation!

Advice from the Ocean: Be shore of yourself. Come out of your Shell. Take time to coast. Avoid pier pressure. Sea Life’s beauty. Don’t get so tide down on work that you miss out on life’s beautiful waves.

{Family} Cook-Stoneberger

We love blended families! This sweet family is a modern-day Brady Bunch, plus one!

Meet the Cook/Stoneberger fam! (And the photobomber they brought along for fun!) {click & scroll for clarity}

{Family} Mormak

I was fortunate enough to join the Mormak family two evenings in a row. They chose me to shoot their wedding....well, lets back up. Their kids chose me to shoot the nuptials as a surprise for the happy couple. They wanted to be sure their parents were present for all the reception fun, so we opted to come back the following day to do family portraits! (Such a fantastic idea!)

Meet the Mormaks...and their family!

{Family} Papaik/Reimink Family

I count my blessings every day that we live in such a beautiful area. The week the Papaik family came to town, I counted my blessings twice.

I'm so thankful our little island is a hotspot for vacationers- which encourages our far-away-friends/family to visit us! I was super-excited to be able to work with this sweet family for beach portraits while they were in town. There is something truly special, more than an honor, when your friends hire you to shoot their family. (Wait...well, you know what i mean.)

Also, shoutout to my super-stud husband...he joins me on many shoots. He can be seen carrying the camera bag, making kiddos smile, and holding sunglasses/cellphones/shoes of our clients. Thanks for all you do, Boo! :)

{Maternity} Ashley + Fam

"It's the little things in life, that make life big..."

Meet Ashley, her bump & her fam! They joined me last week on the beach & in just a few short weeks, they'll join me again with their new addition! #icantwait #bringmethatbaby

{Senior Portraits} Camryn

My favorite part of senior portraits is watching the confidence of my client build through our shoot.

Meet the gorgeous, Camryn- a Manteo High School senior!

Witmers in Nags Head

"Can we bring props?!"

Yes, PLEASE!! I can't begin to tell you how excited it makes me when clients are as excited as I am about their session...and bring props to play with on the beach. Props open the door to new poses, candid moments, etc. that we don't necessarily have without.

Mom & Dad of this particular family were celebrating 50 years of wedded bliss...so their children made a 'noodle arch' for them to walk through in the sand! Those smiles? Organically made!

Campbells in Nags Head

Cottages on the Outer Banks are filled with families from all over the country this time of year. Many families take advantage of their vacation time, and double into a family reunion of sorts- bringing in children and grandchildren from other locations to spend time together at the beach.

We met the Campbell family a few weeks ago and left their shoot feeling like part of their family. (Especially when they brought out their sweet four-legged friend! Give us all the puppy snuggles!)

Shiloh is ONE!

I won't preface this post with much- because...there isn't much cuter than a one year old in a tutu eating cake on her birthday. What could I possibly say to warm your heart even more?

Well...this little one year old happens to be the babe of my oldest, dearest friend. The friend who I shared my first horsey-memories with. The friend who shared her "GraMa" with me. The friend who got all my glittery, bedazzled, hand-me-down clothes...and wore them just as proud as I did. My wish for every little girl in this world is to have a friendship like ours, because no matter how much time passes, we always pick up where we left off. <3

Day Off

One of our kiddos performs 3 nights/week in (proud mom gush) the longest running outdoor drama in the country, The Lost Colony. Being a part of this production takes quite a commitment from the entire cast...every night...outside...donned in heavy, wool costumes...in the heat- in the rain- in the bugs- the entire cast commits to these conditions in order to share this dream with the audience. #runsthruAug22getyourticketsnow

All employees deserve some time to let down their hair together, right? As a reward to our hard-working kiddos...we somehow managed to make it to the carnival together to celebrate these kids and their hard work. And some of their favorite adult actors happened to join us too.

{Engaged} Paul + Tina

Engagement sessions with our future wedding clients are so exciting!! In most cases, we walk away from our session- not feeling like we've been at work at all, moreso that we have spent an hour laughing with friends.

Check out Paul & Tina in downtown Manteo!

{Farm Girl} Avery

Two years ago, I was fortunate enough to photography Ms. Avery's entrance into the world. A few days ago, this blond haired, blue eyed beauty joined us on our little farm for some chick-snuggles and photos. {click & scroll for clarity}

{I Do!} Rob + Meaghan

Do we travel for weddings?!! WE LOVE destination weddings!

While the Outer Banks is a hotspot for weddings, this beach girl LOVES to hit the road for a destination wedding. When Rob & Meaghan inquired about BBP shooting their wedding in Richmond, VA, we were thrilled!! (And that was BEFORE we found out the reception was at a brewery!)

Congrats, Rob + Meaghan! {click & scroll for clarity}

{6 Months} Charles Bailey

It seems like we just packed up Christmas and now it is almost June!

Charles Bailey joined the world shortly before the Christmas holiday. (Which gave us a wonderful opportunity to photograph him in front of the incredibly decorated tree for his newborn portraits!) Now this little cutie is coming up on his first half-year celebration!

Graduation Girls

May 15, 2018

This June, our own little one will be walking across the elementary stage to take her diploma and move onward to MIDDLE school.

(I have to take a moment to breathe when I read that!)

The day of elementary school orientation, we got together with her BFF and took some fun photos to celebrate their entrance into kindergarten. So naturally, we had to document their exit in a BIG way.

Congratulations, girls!! I promise to do it up even bigger for middle school graduation...ahh!!
